What is Hard Water and limescale?
Hard water refers to water that contains a high level of calcium, magnesium and other dissolved minerals. Hard water reduces the cleansing power of soap and leaves mineral deposits, also called "limescale," on the surfaces it comes in contact with.
DID YOU KNOW?
Limescale starts building up from the very first wash.
Hard water results in the following problems:
- A crusty buildup of minerals on the insides of the pipes of your washing machine, resulting in the early breakdown of equipment and a shortened overall life.
- The failure of detergent to foam and reducing performance, necessitating the use of more detergent to wash clothes.
- Limescale build up on fibres that make clothes feel rough.
