Calgon 4in1

HOW HARD IS YOUR WATER?
Limescale in the wash water builds up on the heating element and other vital parts of the washing machine and it deposits on the laundry, during every wash and at all temperatures.
HOW DOES CALGON WORK?
Calgon has a unique formulation with active ingredients being polycarboxylates which softens hard water, preventing limescale from forming in the first place. It is not a descaler, it is purely a preventative - which means that the sooner you introduce Calgon into your daily washing routine, the better!
IS YOUR WASHING MACHINE HEADED FOR A BREAKDOWN?
In hard water areas, limescale build-up is more than unsightly; it can reduce the performance of your appliances and cause serious damage! To discover how to reduce the risk of breakdown and protect your investment, read on…
How Calgon works?
Living in a hard water region can impact our home, but the extent of the damage to certain appliances such as washing machines, may not be as visible as other areas of the home. This is because most of the damage that hard water does to your washing machines is internal.
The calcium and magnesium ions in hard water react with sodium carbonate, a key ingredient of laundry detergent. This reaction renders detergent less effective, producing soap scum, and also forming limescale residue when water evaporates. Limescale can deposit on your laundry, making it feel rough, and also throughout the internal mechanism of your washing machine, especially around the heating element, inhibiting its efficiency. A build-up of limescale in the pipes of your washing machine can cause them to corrode, leading to leakages and often the complete breakdown of your washing machine. However, this can all be prevented by using Calgon, a hard water softener for washing machines. So, how does Calgon work?
Calgon has a 3-Step Action:
- Neutralises the formation of new limescale
- Inhibits growth of existing areas of limescale
- Suspends limescale already formed and removes from the wash
Calgon works through the neutralistion of the hard water mineral ions. Calgon contains a special substance called a chelating agent. This agent binds the mineral ions such as calcium and magnesium together, making them unable to react with the sodium carbonate in laundry detergent or natural carbonates found in hard water. This means that the formation of limescale is prevented!
A key Calgon ingredient acts as a limescale remover for any particles which have managed to form, keeping them suspended in the water until they are dispersed in the rinse phase of the wash. Meanwhile, this same dispersing agent also creates a protective shield over any pre-existing limescale deposits in your washing machine, inhibiting any further build up.
Calgon’s 4in1 protects your washing machine from limescale, dirt residue and bad odours. It comes in the form of Calgon tablets, Calgon gel and Calgon powder. Not only will Calgon keep your washing machine clean and free of unsightly limescale, dirt residue and bad smells, but it will also save you money! Using Calgon means you’ll only have to use as much detergent as you would in a soft water region, and also saves you from repairing or replacing a washing machine that has been severely damaged by the impacts of hard water!
Washing machines live longer with Calgon.
